While there’s no comparing the MacGregor GT MOI 6.4K Putter’s design to anything else out there (except other GTs), this putter has no stylistic frills. The precision-milled holes certainly enhance the unique look, but their presence is totally integral to performance. By removing weight, the CG can be positioned farther away from the face and pushes the MOI off the charts. And the dual silver bands, engraved center line and trapezoid shape lead to a natural, easy alignment. Function precedes form, just like birdie putt precedes birdie. 60-61 Aircraft-Grade Aluminum Precise light form for superior stability. The MacGregor GT MOI 6.4K Putter is 100% milled from a solid block of bar stock, extruded 60-61 aluminum (extruding, like forging, creates an incredibly dense metal – imagine an entire roll of aluminum foil compressed to the size of a golf ball). Because the metal is so pure, it can sustain the innovative head shapes that Bobby Grace designs, all of which permit the use of dense metal weight for high MOIs (resistance to twisting) and greater stability. The lightweight nature of 60-61 aircraft-grade aluminum also permits innovative engineering for the MacGregor GT MOI 6.4K Putter via the use of backweight that extends up for a higher center of gravity and extends in narrower form toward the face to act as a “battering ram” to create a tight, solid roll on the ball. Really, the logic of using 60-61 aluminum isn’t hard to follow: If it’s strong enough to handle turbulence at 30,000 feet, it’s strong enough to handle nerves. The dispersion of force among three points provides maximum stability, because wherever the force is applied, the nearest point will always have two other points supporting it. This principle of triangulation is achieved in Bobby Grace putters by a lightweight frame with dense mixed material weight inserts, which provide maximum resistance to twisting (high “MOI”).
