Golfsmith Club Head Moment of Intertia Unit : Tool Instruction Manual (5 MB) The Clubhead Moment of Inertia Unit is the first inertia instrument designed specifically to measure golf club heads. A golf club s moment of inertia is a major indicator of a clubhead s resistance to twisting on off-center impacts. The MOI itself is a dynamic measurement of the distribution of mass in relation to the center of gravity of the clubhead. The unique gauge can measure the inertia of the clubhead around multiple axes as well as other arbitrary reference axes needed to determine the inertia matrix of the clubhead. The clubhead Moment of Intertia Unit is very simple to operate. Inertia data is displayed on the instrument s liquid crystal display as each axis is measured. The information can be input into the accompanying inertia software database for clubhead comparisons of Eigen values to determine the ellipsoid of inertia. This is an outstanding tool for clubhead designers and advanced clubfitters. The unit is equipped with a calibration weight, database software and hosel mounts that can accept both wood and iron hosels.
