Adjustable weighting technology is not just for drivers anymore. The popular Viper Ti-4 driver heads now have matching fairway wood heads that also offer the ultimate in customized weight distribution. Like the driver model, Viper Ti-4 fairway wood heads are constructed of quality 6-4 titanium and feature four custom weight ports that are positioned around the perimeter of the clubhead. Each fairway wood head is shipped with four screws (two 2-gram aluminum screws and two 8-grams copper screws) that can be maneuvered about the skirt to create any array of various launch angle and flight pattern tendencies. 5-gram steel screws are also available to further fine-tune flight patterns on shots from the fairway. Extensive robot testing by Golfsmith s R&D team has shown that weights placed on the extreme perimeter skirt of a clubhead have a greater influence on changing ball flight than weights that are placed on the sole of a clubhead. More testing is needed to reveal all of the benefits of this innovative technology but one thing is certain - adjustable weighting offers clubmakers the ability to truly customize ball flight patterns for their customers.
