New Generation Roses are available exclusively from Jackson Perkins. Most modern roses, even some heirloom varieties, will bloom all summer if properly groomed. Jackson & Perkins began selling roses before the turn of the century, and they are now the company's main garden product. The Jackson and Perkins research center is just outside Somis California near the coast. The company's mail order business resulted from a garden exhibit Jackson & Perkins set up at the 1939 World's Fair in New York entitled A Parade of Modern Roses.
