Duncraft's backyard birdfeeding help line is a free service. Birdhouses should be cleaned out after each nesting. Old nests should be removed after each nesting. Stock your bird pantry with seed, suet, corn, mealworms, nectar -- all the foods your birds need -- and never run out of seed again. Give your seed feeders, especially thistle and tube feeders, a shake before you refill them, to dislodge any compacted seed. Most birds take the bulk of their diet from natural sources of food, rather than bird feeders.
