Rose leaves develop in sets of three, five, even seven or nine leaflets. New Generation Roses are available exclusively from Jackson Perkins. New roses offer easier planting due to more pliable roots that need smaller holes and suffer less transplant shock. Roses like a good, deep soak to promote deep rooting and they will actually develop drought tolerance if established this way. Jackson & Perkins began selling roses before the turn of the century, and they are now the company's main garden product.
