| Neighbor, friend and former Borough Councilman
Bill Fallon, 53, died in the attack on the World Trade Center. He was an
18-year resident of the Borough. Our heartfelt sympathy is extended to his
family.
Bill was a General Manager at the Port Authority of New York and New
Jersey. His wife Brenda, and their son Chris, who began his studies at Emory
University in Atlanta this fall, survive him.
Bill served on the Borough Council. An avid marathoner, Bill was known to
many residents for the wide smile he wore beneath his baseball cap as he
trained on the streets of the Borough.
Many people have fond memories of Bill’s friendliness and generosity –
the time he took the fallen limb off a vacationing neighbor’s house – the
numerous times he ferried other neighbors to and from the train station –
and especially during the first bombing of the WTC when he carried a
disabled woman down the stairs to safety.
Chris and Merrill Long of Montgomery Avenue became parents of a baby boy
on August 27. He has been named Christopher and joins big brother,
Alexander, and big sister, Marjorie. Best wishes to all.
We welcome our new neighbor in Rocky Hill, Marjorie Yuschak, at 55
Washington Street.
Our deepest sympathy is expressed to our mayor, Brian Nolan, and his
family, on the recent death of his mother and father. His father lived in
Florida and his mother lived on Long Island, New York. Both had been ill for
a long time. |
