| 15101 Borough Auditor Bob Morrison presented
the Audit Report to Council. He said the Borough is in a strong financial
situation. He noted what an excellent job Bill Lamb had done in record
keeping and that the Borough must work to return to those high standards.
Mr. Morrison will develop job descriptions for the Borough financial
officers and will identify oversight procedures to insure that all financial
operations are followed correctly.
Post September 11th: Alan Querec appeared to give a report on the local
response mechanisms in place to address the threat of anthrax. Councilman
Engelbrecht reported that motion sensors will be installed at the water
tower building and suggested that the lighting be improved to discourage
trespassing.
Mayor Nolan noted with appreciation the hard work of Richard Batchelder
and Al Robotti to make the Tri-centennial Celebration such a success.
Tri-centennial program books are free and extras can be picked up at the
Library,
Borough Hall and the Community House. Calendars are $5 and are on sale at
the Community House.
A public hearing will be held at the November 5th Council Meeting to
discuss replacement of the bridge on River Road (Rt. 605). Plans are
available at Borough Hall and the Library.
Traffic calming reconstruction on Rt. 518 is set to begin next week.
A tree has been planted at Borough Hall in memory of Bill Fallon. There
will be a dedication this fall.
August 17, 2002 will be the celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the
Rocky Hill Fire Company. |
